“One of the worst feelings I have ever felt was not being believed about what I had been through.” – I am really sorry you have had to experience that. I think often people, especially men for some reason, tend to lose sight of how damaging this can be for somebody to be dismissive of things of this nature. Often it is the aftermath that tends to leave scars. How people didn’t take them seriously; how they didn’t believe them. How they didn’t protect them. I truly feel for you, dear.
Also, I really am not all that worried about losing followers, to be quite honest. The followers that come here tend to be grown-ups and mature people who I would assume recognize that we all have varying viewpoints on many things, from religion to politics to God-forbid, some of them might even not be Lakers fans. Some could even like the Celtics. Ugh.
Regardless, the Kavanaugh thing makes me sick. I can’t help it. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that the Congressmen on the right really don’t give a fuck what he did, just that they can push him through.
Every new Justice goes through some grilling; that is normal and is healthy for our democracy. Left and right alike – they both need to be hammered before they start deciding on laws that impact us all. But this here? This is an exception even by American historical standards and rushing to judgement speaks volumes about the people we have elected to represent us. I just hope people remember that come voting time. I am sure most people are getting ready for the next season of Who-Gives-A-Fuck TV though.
