Favourite movies? Especially Disney films- I’ve decided it’s time for me to break my Disney virginity. *i am fully prepared that you’re going to make a porn joke, I am ready for it
I never joke when it comes to Disney movies, so you don’t need to worry about that. There are so many good Disney movies, both live action and animated. Chokeahontas and Sleeping Booty are always classics. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a porn name that does just fine by itself.
But seriously, if I’m counting all Disney movies, I’d say my favorites are Mary Poppins, Tangled, Beauty and the Beast (both versions are amazing), Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Incredibles, all three Toy Story movies, Up, Finding Nemo, Moana, Cinderella (both versions), Snow White, Brave, and of course Frozen.
I love musicals in general. I come from a very musical family, where singing was always a big part of my life growing up, and still is. The women in my family have some amazing voices. I actually sing pretty decently as well, although I’m well aware of my vocal range limitations.
But singing at the top of your lungs is such an emotional release. Quick story: my kids and I were on a drive the other day, belting out “Hello from the other side…I must have called a thousand times” from Adele. Do you know how fucking adorable it is to tilt the rear view mirror and watch a kid sing at the top of their lungs? I was more proud at that moment than an A on a test because my kid was learning how to “feel”. To learn – be alive inside. I could not have been more proud.
Music is a gift from God that is unique to our species and has no evolutionary value whatsoever, but it is still here, within us. It is such a beautiful thing.
I love movies that invite you to sing along. Anytime Mary Poppins comes on and “Feed the Birds” starts up, I get shivers. When you think of Mary Poppins, you think “A Spoonful of Sugar” and “Super‐cali‐fragil‐istic‐expi‐ali‐docious”, but the best song from that movie – by a fucking mile – is “Feed the Birds (Tuppence a Bag)”. Gives me chills every time. One of my all-time favorite songs and movies ever. I genuinely am afraid to see the remake – I really don’t want to hate Emily Blunt.
Want a funny story? When I was 19-ish, I was singing at the top of my lungs down the freeway and apparently thought I was alone, then looked over to a car full of hot girls my age laughing their fucking asses off at me. I was mortified. Then I waved them down and they all just sucked my cock on the side of the road. Ok. I made that last part up.
