Hi TRD, Just in response to your recent ask. I'm loving it! I have always said that I'm more attracted to personality traits rather than looks and been slated for this all my life. I feel like your saying, looks are important to an extent but not your priority. Everyone likes a pretty face but ultimately the thing that really turns you on is a motivated intelligent woman. Sorry for any terrible Grammar Much Love Sir x
Hi and thank you. I actually deleted it because I think I was a bit too harsh; it just pisses me off when people assume things about me, especially regarding how I feel or would act in my own relationship. The girl that submitted that doesn’t know me, but she can know enough about me from what I write to know I wouldn’t give a fuck if my girl packed on weight.
I do agree with what you are saying and I think the One Man’s Perspective post on Body Types, specifically the part about weight, conveys the sentiment best. Most people – like up to 75% of people are “overweight”. Big deal.
To me it’s never really been a deciding factor on if I’m attracted to a person. But when I say something like “all things being equal, personalities the same, I’d prefer someone to not be overweight”, then it becomes very transparent to me the mindset of the Asker. She is likely overweight and hates the idea that anyone doesn’t prefer her body type, so rather than accept it, she tries to fight the concept. Like I said, personality comes first and I’d prefer a thick but smart and fun girl over a thin dingbat with a bad heart, but she didn’t want to hear that part.
There’s nothing wrong saying that by the way. It’s like asking a girl, “hey would you prefer your guy to have a hard stomach with abs you can run your hands across or to be built like John Goodman?”. Oh, you want the Cristiano Ronaldo Versace version? Well clearly you are an asshole for that and if your BF gained weight you’d leave. It’s ridiculous to say shit like that. But that’s basically what she inferred about me, which is why I was such a dick.
Whatever. Her attitude is what would be the biggest turn off; not her weight. People like that are a pain to be around in the first place.
