Well, there is a lot to unpack here.
First, thank you for reading and complimenting my writing.
Second, on messaging. Yes I do get a lot of different people saying hello, to whom I respond to all of them, but it really is pretty rare that the conversation is lasting or consistent mainly because the volume is very hard to keep up with.
People like to feel paid attention to, which is normal and not selfish at all, but it’s just not a luxury I have to offer. I am not interested in the sense some people want anyways; I just want to chat.
I do value the messages but the people that tend to know me for months are the ones that recognize my availability is low and are okay with it. The ones that need more attention never will get it from me and that is a hard pill to swallow for some. I have a hard time explaining this to people without sounding like a dick, even people who have lots of people they message with.
The difference with them and me is this – If you really think about how much time it must take to do the Posts themselves (somewhere around 1K in about 9 months), it makes for a difficult round of jumping around messages and I guess it just is what it is. The writing will always come first – that is just the nature of things. That is why I have Tumblr – so I can express. It is not to ‘meet chicks’. I am sure I could do that just fine without the help of social media if I were available, but I am not.
Regarding if I’d care if you’d personally message me. Who knows? I know I would not ‘not care’. I am really not a dick like that. You make an effort to say hi, you will be met with a hello back. Just expect the next response to take some time. That is what it feels like when chatting with me.
