Relax? God this picture of Ross is great. So, to answer your question, I suppose a lot of things. I love spending time with my kids and that has always been and always will be a set aside part of my day. It used to be swimming a lot and parks; lately it is hiking and parks, homework help, help with their activities, spelling lately (lots of big achievements this past week in that area, and yes, she likes to tell everyone about it, over and over and over). No matter what, I always make sure to carve aside time for them every day, no matter how busy life gets.
I also love working out. I never did before and always kind of avoided the gym but it became part of my day this past year and it is missing right now and I need it. It definitely helps center me and makes me feel good about my physical progress when I am staying at it daily or about 5 days a week.
With friends, I love golfing and going to the range but it has been awhile, since most the people I’d actually want to spend 4 hours drinking outside on a course with didn’t live near me until recently (I had moved, then moved back). I’ve started reading a lot more lately and that used to be a really big part of my free time – like a really big part, especially before kids. I also love sex, in case you didn’t know that.
Plus a nice night outside on the patio with bourbon and a laptop up and writing some smut is somewhat therapeutic to me for some reason, so writing is also a way to relax. Believe it or not, working late and hard work always gave me a sense of relaxation too, through accomplishments. My first 15 years or so in my career was all about trying to climb the corporate ladder, which I always did well achieving, but after a decade and a half of 60 to 80 to sometimes 100 hour weeks, you realize life is just too precious to waste it earning. Now, if I am going to look to get some extra money or something, I will first test out writing erotica books, since to me that would be much more relaxing than writing business proposals or developing marketing strategies.
Seafood? Absolutely love it, but I like lobster and crab more than fish per se. Still, I love it all. I am just not much of a chicken fan, but I eat it almost every day anyways it seems.
Thanks for the Ask,
